Built by a co-driver, for co-drivers

Rally. Connected

Mappex puts the itinerary, the stages, the recce and the results in your hands — prepared at the desk, carried offline into the car, and shared with your team and the people following you.

Mappex is coming to the App Store and Google Play. Until then, early access is by email.

Prepare

Arrive at the recce with the work already done.

Plan the rally on a big screen, and it is on your phone when you get in the car.

Itinerary and programme

Import the rally's itinerary document or build the itinerary by hand: every time control, stage, service and refuel, in order, with the times worked out.

Stages on the map

Every stage drawn over satellite imagery, and saved to the phone before you lose signal.

Recce, planned

The recce days laid out around the stages, with the route between them worked out for you — then driven step by step on the phone.

Fuel plan

How much to put in at each refuel, from the distances and your car, with the margin you choose.

Weather and road conditions

The forecast for each stage at the time the first car is due there, and what the road will be like when it gets there: dry, damp, wet or mud, and how far the weather models agree.

Documents and crew kit

The organiser's notice board and your own files, readable offline. Licences and kit are added once and ready at every rally.

Pacenotes, written from the map

A first draft of every stage's notes, written from the stage line in your own system — the calls, the lengths, the distances between them — so the recce is spent correcting notes rather than writing them.

Set up the system once on the rally: how many grades, how a corner's length is marked, how distances are rounded. The driver's instrument on the recce reads the same system.

The road, before you get there

Rain falling and the road drying, worked out stretch by stretch for the time your car is due: dry, damp, wet or mud, and where on the stage. Seven weather models are read, and the screen says how many agree rather than promising a word.

The weekend is written up in your language, looked at again before every service, and on the recce one tap records how the road really was.

Race

It keeps the time, so you can keep your head in the notes.

  • Time controls, counted down

A warning before every control, and the next one counting down on the lock screen.

  • Timecard photos

Photograph the timecard at each control. It is kept on the phone and uploaded when there is signal.

  • Results and splits

Stage times, overall and splits as the organiser publishes them, with your car picked out.

  • Against the first pass

On a repeated stage, see how far up or down you are on your first run, at the same point in the stage.

  • Tyres and setup

Pressures and setup recorded by the crew or the engineer, and kept with the rally.

Check in

On your wrist

The countdown to the next control, check-in with one tap, start times, stopping the stage with the driver's feedback, and tyre pressures — all from the Apple Watch, without picking up the phone.

Onboard, live

The GoPro starts livestreaming at every stage by itself, and each stage is kept as a recording to watch back.

AI race engineer

An engineer at every service, and on the road section out.

Say what the driver is feeling — understeer on corner entry, a car that is lazy to turn — and the engineer reads what is on the car, the tyres, the stage times, the road and what the crew said after each stage, and proposes what to change.

  • Within what can be changed where the car stands

Anything at service; damper clicks and anti-roll bar positions on the road section; nothing in parc fermé. The app enforces the limit, not the model.

  • It proposes, the crew applies

Each change arrives as a setup card with its reason. One tap puts it in the setup; nothing on the car is changed by itself.

  • It learns what each change did

The stages before a change set against the stages after it, in the driver's words and in the pace, and remembered for the next answer.

The rally lives on your phone. Stages, itinerary and documents work deep in the forest, and everything you record catches up when you are back in range.

Test

A test day, timed and recorded like a stage.

Take the car to a road for a day. Mappex times every pass, keeps what was on the car and what the driver said about it, and reads how the car moved.

  • Your own roads

Draw the road on the web, or drive it once on the phone. The start and finish lines start and stop the clock, and a pass back the other way is the same road reversed.

  • Every pass against the best

Time, gap, what changed on the car since the pass before, tyres, pressures and the driver's words: one sheet for the engineer, on the phone and on the web.

  • Telemetry from the phone

Speed, braking and power, grip in the corners and the time gained or lost, read from the recording the phone makes in its mount. Two passes laid over each other, on a test road or a rally stage.
